Martin Gorman

MartyG is a life-long Angeleno. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, he now lives in the South Bay community of Torrance.

As a child, MartyG visited Las Vegas with his parents. He was mesmerized by the performances of gifted magicians and entertainers. There, he was privileged to see the greats like Doug Henning, Penn & Teller, Lance Burton, Siegfried & Roy, and many others.

A chance remark by his wife rekindled MartyG's interest in magic. He honed his craft by attending magic classes and training with several Los Angeles magicians. MartyG completed the series of magic classes offered by the Academy of Magical Arts at the prestigious Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.

MartyG has been a professional magician since 2005 and performs regularly. He has won awards for his performances.

MartyG continuously develops and enhances his skills as a magician and entertainer through affiliations with the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Southern California Association of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians.

In creating his personal style of magical entertainment, MartyG strives to combine the warm cheerfulness of Doug Henning, the wit and humor of Penn and Teller, the elegant mystery of Lance Burton and most of all, the handsome good looks of David Copperfield. (MartyG is modest, too.)

MartyG doesn't need much for staging as he prefers to stroll and vist tables. Sets typically consist of three magic effects per table, although this varies dependent upon time and number of audience guests.

Stage or parlor acts can also be performed, requiring about 10 minutes setup time. MartyG carries his own equipment, including PA system, if needed. Just let him know.
